Check in
Simple, you take the route celebrities prefer and hole up in a swanky hotel, planning your entries and for lack of a better word, escape routes so that you're never seen with your significant other. Or, you can find yourselves a cosy corner (that fits your budget) at any of the city's watering holes and snatch a few hours of bliss.
Love au lait
One cosy corner of the city worth checking out is the five-star coffee shop. The lunch and especially post-lunch period is slow. So, if you nip over for lunch or a well deserved coffee break, you just might get some free time with him. The coffee shops at the InterContinental or even the Ambassador at Marine Drive in Mumbai are great. Or try Cafe at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi's Bhikaji Cama Road. Mynth at Bangalore's Taj West End is also a good option.
Following the same principle, it also might be a good idea to check the swish bars around town during lunch time. Try Csar Bar at the Mumbai's Intercontinental or even Geoffrey's at the Marine Plaza. The Library Bar at Bangalore' Leela Palace with its rich, old English decor is also a great place.
Go green
Alternatively, pick a nice, quiet, shady (read hidden from public view) spot in a near-by park. Granted that there aren't that many green spaces in Mumbai, but you could try Oval Maidan or even Colaba Woods. Bangalore has no such problem - it's not called the garden city for nothing. So, pack some delicious sandwiches and head of for a mini picnic in the sun at Cubbon Park. But if you can get away for a long enough time, head to Hauz Khas deer park in South Delhi.
Making history
Or take your picnic to the museum. Spend some quality time together while admiring some of the finest art Mumbai has to offer at the Jehangir Nicholson Museum of Modern Art at Nariman Point. You can also go to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastusangralaya, formerly known as the Prince of Wales Museum. Delhi's Archaeological Museum, housed in the Red Fort, also offers a great escape.
